Welcome to Turning Ranch, One Family's Dream!

Welcome to Turning Ranch, One Family's Dream. Like so many dreams this dream has developed thoughout time. I was educated in the USA public education system, recieved a "quality medical education while serving in the US Military (Vietnam ERA), went to college (thank you GI Bill), served large Corporations, built my own business and was "successful" as many may count success. BUT then the spector of Diabetes and Heart Disease entered my life. So what did I do?
I turned to the Western Conventional - Allopathic Medicine of which I was educated in. "Please help me" and so I took the drugs and the advise. Oh it seemed to work for a while but then it was worse than before. It seemed that my body was saying "I am drowning in meds but I am still sick!!!"
So I asked my doctor, "What about my future? My legacy?". I recieved "sound" medical advise which agreed with what I was taught, but still it did not match what my body was saying. I was not getting well.
I was introduced to "alternative medicine", healthy organic food, and homeopathy. Why did I not know about this? My medical education did not teach me anything about this. Well, I am NOT a licensed Medical Doctor so maybe I missed something. I went back to a learning mode.
I started to learn about my body and eat healthy. I read "Eat Fat, Lose Fat", followed Dr Enig's advise and wow, my excess weight started to go away. I drink "raw Milk" and lacto-fermented nutrient dense foods and My health is improving and I now I wonder what do I pass to my children? my grandchildren? and great-grandchildren? THUS the DREAM.

Aquaponics
aqua·pon·ics Pronunciation - Spelled: [ak-wuh-pon-iks] IPA: /ˈækwəˈpɒnɪks/ - noun (used with a singular verb) The symbiotic cultivation of plants and aquatic animals in a recirculating environment. [Origin: 1996-97; aqua(culture) + (hydro)ponics] Related forms aqua·pon·ic, adjective : an aquaponic system aqua·pon·i·cal·ly, adverb : he grew the plants aquaponically aqua·pon·i·cist, noun : she is an aquaponicist. That's a mouth full. Simply aquaponics is the marriage of Fish farming and hydoponics (greenhouse). The fish water has most of the nutrients that greenhouse vetatables need to grow and the plants clean the fish water. There is a lot more to it but that is the simple of it.

Fish Farming? Are you kidding?

Besides raising food for our family, what is our cash crop? Beef, Chicken, Turkey, Lamb and Pork were being done by our friends at Rehoboth Ranch and WIndy Meadows Family Farm. We did not want to compete, so what do we do??
The family was wanting another meat so we went to the market. There was Tilapia fish. Is it organic? Well NO. USDA has not set the organic standard for fish in USA. OK, Is it raised with no herbicides, antibotics, GMO or anything Synthetic? Mmm... We don't know. Can we ask the farmer? Well. no..it comes from Ecquador or some other country. Can I buy USA raised? Well not here.
SO we decided to raise natural , healthy, sustainable fish. We are finding out that information on that is scarce. We may be the only one doing it. Can you believe that? Join us on our journey.
